Boondocking is generally described as dry camping (No water, electric, or sewer) hookups out in the middle of nowhere (woods, mountains, prairies, lakes, etc.).
Most RVs have a fresh water, grey water, and black water tank along with an on-board generator and deep cycle batteries to store the power.
This allows you to have a limited self contained water and electric supply that can last anywhere from 1 to 4 weeks (Depending on your consumption).
Many boondockers add solar panels and mini-wind turbines to their RVs so they don't have ti use precious gas with their generators.
The solar and wind help recharge the deep cycle batteries so you can use all natural renewable energy.
